  • The weight of rain remembered by stone. The slow, cool memory of water that has passed through you countless times. Stone would know this.

    Velinvasu 

    Velin — memory held by the land + vasu — water’s presence 


  • The pull of migration felt before the wind changes. A deep-bodied signal that it is time to go, without seeing or hearing a sign. Birds and whales would know this.

    Lasoru Velasa 

    Lasoru — to carry something precious + Velasa — the pull of cycles


  • The stillness inside a wave before it breaks. Held tension, poised between power and release. The ocean would know this.

    Marun Caliru 

    Marun — deep stillness in moving water + Caliru — to turn or spiral 


  • The way roots recognize the touch of familiar water. Knowing the specific river or rain by taste alone. Trees would know this.

    Sava Nasiru 

    Sava — belonging to place + Nasiru — to listen with the whole body 


  • The shared vibration of a chorus in the dark. The physical joining of voices until there is no single source of sound. Frogs and insects would know this.

    Haniravu Veloru
    Haniravu — to weave oneself into kinship + veloru — resonance, vibration

  • The light’s memory of passing through the same leaves, season after season. Subtle changes in colour, angle and warmth, remembered without thought. The forest canopy would know this.

    Elura Marinvu
    Elura — light through leaves + Marinvu — a return never the same

  • The language of shadows at different times of day. Shifting shapes that tell where the sun has been and where it will go. Rock faces and dunes would know this.

    Velorin Laso
    Velorin — longing for a future not yet real + Laso — the space between flight and landing
